Custom Furniture
Châtelet’s custom furniture, headboards, draperies, and lampshades allow you to create heirloom pieces that are one-of-a-kind and distinctively yours. With all our custom programs, you select (or provide) the fabric, paint colour, and finishings, as well as the style, shape or piece, most suited to your own unique taste.
Châtelet offers two options for custom headboards: French-Style Hand-Carved Wooden Framed Headboards, which can be painted, stained and upholstered to your liking; and Slip-Covered, Wood-Framed Headboards, Upholstered in Muslin. Our muslin headboards come in two frame styles, straight back and camel back. The slipcovers are removable, washable and pre-shrunk. And, as always, you can provide your own fabric or choose from our selection. Matching footboards are also available. Both the hand-carved and muslin options are available in single, double, queen or king size and can be attached to the rails of any iron bed frame.
Châtelet creates custom French-inspired draperies using 100% dupioni silk. Our custom draperies come in a range of colours and are available ready-made at 92” L, 50” W (when pulled flat). Panels can be lengthened or shortened and the price is adjusted accordingly. There is no charge for minor adjustments or for joining panels. All our custom draperies are lined and weighted and all come with hidden hooks suitable for drapery track or rings.
Châtelet offers two kinds of custom lampshades: our Metal-Framed Shades, allow you to choose the style of frame and either bring in your own fabric or choose from our selection; our “Sticky-Backed Plastic” Shades may not sound glamourous, but they allow you to create custom lampshades from virtually any material, including old maps, book covers, wallpaper, printed photographs, wrapping paper and fabrics of all types and colours. They come in practically any size and are available in drum or cone shape. With either choice, our staff is happy to consult with you to create something uniquely yours and/or in keeping with the French-Country, Paris-Apartment, Shabby-Chic and/or Hollywood-Glam style.
Create a unique set of chairs or a one-of-a-kind bench perfect for your French-country home or Shabby-Chic condo. First choose your style of chair or bench frame, and then choose your paint colour and your upholstery fabric. You can pick from our selection of paints and fabrics or bring your own. Whether you want classic French-country white-painted furniture or hot-pink chairs with zebra-stripe cushions, we say go for it!
And don’t forget, you can always visit our Toronto warehouse and select any of our unfinished vintage furniture pieces and have them painted and finished to your exact specifications.
